These are our recommended entry-level Chromebooks, and we have these in stock ready to send to parents who order. This device is an ultra-durable Chromebook perfect for use in schools. No touch screen or stylus, but fast, reliable and gets the job done. Incredible value at only £234 - highly recommended!

Parents can buy a Chromebook from Amazon or any other retailer and these devices can be used at school. Please ensure your device meets the following guidelines:
Tough & durable design, suitable for use in school. Avoid high-end Chromebooks with thin bezels as these are not suitable for children!
11-13 inch screens (bigger is better as a rule of thumb, but anything bigger than 13 is not practical for school)
Price should be between £200-£400. Avoid spending more than this as the most expensive chromebooks are fragile and unsuitable for children
Touch-screen is desirable but NOT essential
Avoid buying second hand devices as battery life is crucial for use in school, and older devices have weaker batteries

Parents should note that we will not be able to provide support for devices purchased outside our school scheme, and any such devices will not be covered by the warranties that are available for school scheme devices.

Chromebooks must be fully charged before each day at school, so day-pupils should charge them overnight at home. Pupils who forget will be able to borrow a 'pool' device at school for the day. Only boarders need bring charging cables to school - charging cabinets will be provided in form rooms
Pupils may bring their own in-ear headphones (cabled), but these must be small enough to fit in a pencil case. No Apple Airpods or any bluetooth/battery powered or gaming headphones please. We have spares for those who need.
Protective 'sleeves' for Chromebooks are highly recommended. The Acer Chromebooks above have 11-11.5 inch screens so something like this (photo below) would be very sensible
